Things to see
There is something charmingly old world about the central area of Warren. While there are not a lot of genuinely old buildings (there was a major fire in 1899) the town has an interesting, early 20th century feel to it which is created by some of the buildings in Dubbo Street, Burton Street and Lawson Street.
Prominent buildings include the Club House Hotel (1901) and Royal Hotel (1900) which stand opposite each other in Dubbo Street.
The Red River Gum Walk Begins near Burton Street in Macquarie Park. The Walk Trail guides you around the riverbank to a river red gun tree. When walking further down the river stream you will also find where stock wagons used to cross onto a gravel bar when the river water down stream was low. This process was used until the first bridge in Warren was built in 1875.
Thanks Rebecca for This great information from the Warren Shire Council
