The Tungamah silos were cleverly painted under the skilled hand of Western Australian artist Sobrane Simcock in February 2018.
During the initial phase, Sobrane brought to life a captivating scene featuring a spray of dancing Brolgas alongside the iconic Australian
Kookaburra. This mural makeover required an impressive 60 litres of paint and 142 spray cans and was completed in just eight days.
In September 2019, Sobrane returned to enhance the artwork, adding charming additions such as the lovable Pink and Grey Galah, a Hummingbird, a Cheeky Owl nestled amidst the leaves, a Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo, two small Wrens, and a White Ibis. These
delightful creatures were carefully integrated into the mural, complementing the existing imagery.
The Tungamah silos hold the distinction of being the first to be included in the North East Victorian Silo Art Trail, setting a precedent for
subsequent installations to follow.
