This water tank is located next to the Stewart Day Care Centre, which served as the inspiration for the tank’s theme.

Young children from the centre contributed to the mural by imprinting their handprints at the bottom of the tank to add a

personal touch.

Rachaelle Downey, the Facilities Team Leader for TasWater, explained, “The reservoir was identified as infrastructure in need of some vibrant artwork, and considering its proximity to the childcare centre, we aimed to create something visually appealing for the children.

Thus, we decided to adopt an ‘ABC’ theme, painting the alphabet along with animals and other characters associated with each letter”.
