The GrainCorp Silos at Rosebery underwent a stunning transformation in late 2017 under the skilled hand of artist Kaff-eine. On one of the silos, she masterfully depicts the image of a young female farmer—a resilient and indomitable figure accustomed to the rigours of rural life. Clad in a work shirt and jeans, with weathered cowboy boots, her attire reflects the toil and tribulations she endures, particularly during periods of drought and other challenges inherent to agricultural life.
On the adjacent silo, Kaff-eine captures the likeness of Len Coffey, epitomising the quintessential Mallee farmer. Dressed in traditional attire, including his Akubra hat, sturdy boots, and oilskin vest, Len is portrayed alongside his trusty horse, a timeless symbol of
the farming way of life in the region.
Through her artistry, Kaff-eine celebrates the resilience and fortitude of the local farming community and pays homage to the enduring
connection between the land and its people. The GrainCorp Silos at Rosebery now stand as a testament to the spirit of perseverance and resilience that defines rural life in the Mallee region.
