In January 2024, the Marlo Fire Brigade took an innovative step by commissioning the painting of two CFA Water Tanks in the Marlo region. These water tanks have now become a significant part of the local landscape, and one of them features a stunning depiction of the abundant marine life that thrives in the area. The vibrant artwork showcases the diversity of oceanic creatures that call these pristine waters home, adding a visual celebration of the region’s rich natural environment.

Marlo, a charming and peaceful seaside town, is situated at the mouth of the Snowy River, where the river’s freshwater meets the salty embrace of the ocean. This serene location is surrounded by some of the most breathtaking and unspoiled waterways and beaches in Victoria. Among these, the Snowy Inlet stands out as a remarkable natural feature, where the Snowy River meets the sea in a unique blend of freshwater and saltwater ecosystems. It’s a place that is as picturesque as it is ecologically significant, attracting visitors with its tranquil beauty and diverse wildlife.

The estuary at Marlo, with its sheltered waters, provides an ideal environment for fishing all year round. The region is renowned for offering some of the best perch and bream fishing in all of Australia, making it a popular destination for anglers seeking both a peaceful retreat and an opportunity to enjoy world-class fishing.

Marlo is also a paradise for nature enthusiasts and outdoor lovers. It offers an abundance of activities for those who enjoy bushwalking, birdwatching, and exploring remote beaches. The town’s proximity to pristine waters provides endless opportunities for water-based activities, from kayaking and canoeing to swimming and exploring the coastal ecosystems. For those who appreciate the beauty of nature and the tranquility of a quiet seaside town, Marlo is the perfect escape, blending adventure with relaxation in a stunning natural setting.
