The Lameroo Silos were completed in April 2024.

The artwork is a powerful expression of Lameroo’s history and the pioneering farmers, who paved the way with their perseverance and

resilience.

The male figure is not a particular individual, but aims to capture the essence of the Mallee Farmer - a symbolic representation of

unwavering spirit and hope. A Windmill is also featured; with no above ground water, and the challenge of rainfall, lameroo was once known as ‘the land of the windmill’, with the regions unique underground water allowing like and livelihood to be established.

Soon to be completed by a second silo art work circa 2025. (Copyright) Smug (Sam Bates). Artist 2024 was commissioned by Lameroo Forward Inc. in conjunction with Viterra’s Operations Pty, Ltd and the Southern Mallee District Council.
