In March 2021, the talented artist Jimmy Dvate completed the stunning Kyabram Water Tank Art, an artwork that beautifully celebrates the natural beauty and ecological significance of the region's wetlands. This vibrant mural is located at the Kyabram Fauna Park, a cherished site known for its rich diversity of wildlife and plant life.

The artwork, which covers the entire side of the water tank, is a vibrant tribute to the various native species that inhabit the wetlands. It brings these creatures to life, showcasing their exquisite beauty while emphasizing their important role in the region's ecosystem. The mural features a variety of animals, each representing the ecological richness of the area. Among these, viewers can spot an Eastern Long-Neck Turtle, a Golden Whistler, and a Red-Capped Robin. These species, which are iconic of the wetlands' diverse avian population, are beautifully depicted, symbolizing the region’s thriving birdlife.

The mural doesn't stop there; it also includes a wide array of other fascinating creatures that are integral to the area's ecosystem. The Yellow Crimson Rosella and the Major-Mitchell’s Cockatoo add vibrant splashes of color to the artwork, while the Plains-Wanderer, a unique and elusive bird, is carefully painted to capture its rare and remarkable appearance.

Additional notable animals depicted in the mural include the Spotted-Tail Quoll, a carnivorous marsupial, and the Blue Skimmer Dragonfly, a delicate insect known for its striking appearance. The graceful Brolga, a large bird often seen in the wetlands, also makes an appearance. Perhaps most personal to the artist, the Bush Stone-Curlew, a nocturnal bird with a haunting call, adds a special touch to this incredible piece of art.

This mural serves not only as a visual feast for those who visit but also as a reminder of the importance of preserving the unique biodiversity of the Kyabram wetlands and the surrounding Fauna Park. Through this artwork, Jimmy Dvate has created a lasting tribute to the natural world, encouraging a deeper appreciation for the delicate balance of life that thrives in this remarkable habitat.
