In October 2018, the Kadina water tower, painted by Resio, unveiled a symbolic tribute to the area’s rich Cornish history and its deep-rooted connection to copper mining.
The mural is a masterful blend of imagery that encapsulates the essence of Kadina’s heritage. At its heart is the depiction of a young maypole girl, elegantly holding symbols of copper and wheat, which pay homage to the pivotal role these industries played
in shaping the region’s identity. Additionally, the mural features a majestic steam engine, a nod to the historic rail line that once traversed alongside the water tower, a lifeline of transportation for the community.
Notably, the mural serves a dual-purpose as a memorial, with the inclusion of poppies paying solemn tribute to fallen soldiers, a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made in service to the nation.
Nestled amidst a bustling car park, the Kadina Water Tower offers long bay parking, ensuring easy access for visitors.
