The Ferny Hills Water Tank Art was originally painted as part of Unitywater’s tank makeover program, which was designed to help deter graffiti and acts of vandalism. This vibrant mural was completed in 2014 by the talented local muralists from Phantast Cultural Music & Arts. Since its completion, the artwork has become a cherished feature of the area, proudly showcasing the local flora and fauna of the region.
One of the standout elements of the mural is its depiction of the Green Tree Frog, a species that is native to the area. The Green Tree Frog is a large and sturdy amphibian, known for its moderate-sized legs that help it thrive in its natural habitat.
Male Green Tree Frogs typically grow to around 90 millimeters in length, while females can reach a larger size of up to 113 millimeters. These frogs are often recognized for their bright green color and striking golden eyes, with some individuals even adorned with white spots on their sides and backs, further enhancing their unique appearance.
The water tank is located at a busy suburban intersection, which offers a convenient parking area for visitors who want to stop by and take a moment to admire and photograph the stunning artwork. However, it is worth noting that the parking area is not equipped to accommodate caravans, so those traveling in larger vehicles may need to make alternative arrangements for parking.
