The Coobowie Water Tank, completed in late February 2021, was painted by artists Jason Parker, Chanel Tang, and Ambrose Rehorek.
The mural highlights the distinctive birdlife of Coobowie, featuring elegant Black Swans, native plants like Bulbine Bulbosa and the Christmas Bell.
The swirling background patterns reference water and the aquatic reserve, tying the artwork to the town's natural environment.
Coobowie, derived from an Aboriginal word meaning "wild fowl water," inspired the artists to incorporate these elements, which are iconic to the town’s identity.
Also at the site is a painted shed, which contrasts with the water tank’s soft, flowing design. The shed mural depicts a rodeo scene, reflecting the town’s history and adding a sense of toughness and chaos against the hard iron surface. It also captures the tranquil essence of an Australian sunset, evoking the feeling of dust and soil, which are deeply tied to the Australian landscape
