he Coal Point Water Tank was completed in June 2018 and stands as a stunning visual landmark in the area. Under the expert guidance of renowned street artist "Graffiti Dan" (Dan Miller), local youths were given the opportunity to participate in one of two mural painting sessions held during Youth Week.
These sessions allowed young people from the community to showcase their creativity and contribute to the project, making it a true collaborative effort.
The mural spans an impressive 120 square meters and features an array of native Australian wildlife. The design showcases squirrel gliders, owls, possums, and other animals, creating a vibrant celebration of the region’s natural beauty and ecological diversity. The artwork not only brightens the area but also serves as a reminder of the importance of wildlife conservation.
Unfortunately, the water tank has been affected by some graffiti damage, dated to 2024. While this detracts from the artwork’s original splendor, it does not diminish the overall significance of the mural as a reflection of local culture and artistic expression.
