In mid-2022, Alex Sugar collaborated with the Hume City Council to transform these twin water tanks in Clarkefield.
The tanks now feature stunning depictions of the local flora and fauna, including a Long-Necked Turtle, Platypus, and local frogs.
The Eastern Long-Necked Turtle is a snake-necked turtle that is known for its elongated neck.
This species has a tendency to inhabit various water bodies and exhibit opportunistic feeding behaviour.
Interestingly, the Eastern Long- Necked Turtle is classified as a side-necked turtle, which means that it bends its head sideways into its shell rather than retracting it directly backwards.
